On board your vehicle, following the guide, we will go up inside the Etna park where we will reach the start of our path accessible only with a guide. Here we will leave our vehicles for free in our car park located inside the Etna park.
From here, after a light trek👣 suitable for everyone, even for families with children, it will be possible to discover and visit the top of the lateral craters on the north-eastern side of Etna, where some of these craters are still open inside, so it will be possible look out and be able to understand the formation and activity of the lateral craters. During the excursion inside the Etna park it will be possible to observe all the types of lava and volcanic minerals existing on the Etna volcano and above all endemic and pioneer plants existing on Etna.
After visiting the lateral craters we will move for about 2 km on an asphalt road Using the car and we will make the last stop to visit the “Volcanic Cave ” with helmet and lamps.
At the end of the tour, being already at high altitude, you can independently visit the tourist center with your car on the northern side of Etna or the nearby Taormina and the Alcantara gorges which are just a few kilometers from the crater area we visited.
